A Filipino pastor broadcasts on DZAS. The slide is marked "1964," but is also marked a "duplicate." We think the original photo dates from about 1952 because of the "Pacific Studio" plate which is on the wall over the banner. See also #544.

Dr. Doug Pennoyer of Biola University provided this digital image of an original which is in the possession of his parents. His parents were New Tribes Mission missionaries in the Mount Pinatubo region of the Philippines in the 1950's. The Aytas were more commonly called "negritos" for their "afro" style hair and dark skin. New Tribes cooperated with FEBC in the distribution of radio sets in tribal areas.

FEBC explores the idea of establishing stations in Greece, under the heading of "Apostle to the Nations." In January of 1952 the Greek government approved the idea in principle. But a change in government in the Fall, killed the project when its leaders put the application on permanent "pending" status. This document continues in #1742.
