Date uncertain. A duet apparently being sung from an old "Songs Of Praise" hymn book in English. The photo is taken in Studio "C" at FEBC Manila. The small plaque behind the singers identifies that the studio is also known as "Pacific Studio - in Christian Generosity by Pacific Electrical Supply." This Manila company was financially supportive of FEBC in the crucial first years of operation in the Philippines. The company's name also appears as a donor in the first broadcast schedule of DZFE (see #414).

A view to the south from CRCM toward Manila. The remarkable thing in this photo is that Mt. Makiling can be seen in the distance, some 50 miles away, a sight that would rarely be possible in the future due to severe pollution in Manila.

A Filipino pastor broadcasts on DZAS. The slide is marked "1964," but is also marked a "duplicate." We think the original photo dates from about 1952 because of the "Pacific Studio" plate which is on the wall over the banner. See also #544.

In order to document the PM ministry, and show evidence of its popularity, FEBC produced a 16mm film showing a PM's delivery and use in a Barrio identified simply as "Banducan." In this unusual photo, available in the Archive as a 4" x 5" black and white negative, the still and movie crew, as well as barrio members are directed by John Broger.

Dr. Doug Pennoyer of Biola University provided this digital image of an original which is in the possession of his parents. His parents were New Tribes Mission missionaries in the Mount Pinatubo region of the Philippines in the 1950's. The Aytas were more commonly called "negritos" for their "afro" style hair and dark skin. New Tribes cooperated with FEBC in the distribution of radio sets in tribal areas.
