The "SAVE" project was begun in 1995 under the name of Manila Short Wave Project (MSWP). Its goal was to install four 100kw short wave transmitters and steerable curtain antennas. Additional property adjoining the existing Bocaue site was purchased for the antennas. The ground breaking ceremony included the piling up of symbolic "stones of dedication" by staff. Upon completion of the project the stones were cemented together into a permanent pyramid of remembrance of God's faithfulness in providing for the US$8.5 million project. See #602 for plaque contents.

Aerial view of KGEI, Redwood City, California in July of 1968. KGEI, purchased by FEBC in 1960, and closed in 1995, was located 3 miles east of Bayshore Highway (101) near Belmont, and five miles south of San Francisco airport on the edge of the Bay. KGEI shared some 50 acres with local NBC station KNBR, whose AM towers are seen in the upper right near the HAZard signs. Three 125 foot towers and barely visible poles on the right support the three short wave arrays. KGEI’s building is the smaller building on the left. Also barely visible on the lower right is a small guard shack, occupied by Marines during WWII. .45 caliber bullets can still be dug out of the dikes. KGEI was widely listened to in Asia during the war. By 2005, the entire Redwood Peninsula was fully developed up to the front gate of the radio stations.

Ayta Refugees at a Pampanga encampment (Philippines). FEBC mobilized local Christians to distribute aid to the thousands of people displaced by mudflows (lahar) caused by torrential rains on the slopes of Mt. Pinatubo in the years following the June, 1991 eruption. The Ayta tribes (also known as "Negritos") are a shy people, who found their forced evacuation to civilization extremely painful.
