Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowman stand beside their broken down car on the road from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (then Malaya), with David Huntley. The car is a Baby Fiat 600, owned by FEBA Singapore. A leaking radiator hose resulted in a blown gasket. The trip was punctuated by frequent stops in search of water. At one point a rag near a water tin caught fire, and an alarmed taxi driver chased the car, thinking the tin contained petrol. Note: This grayscale image was made from the original color transparency which had faded to monochrome reds.
