Zamboanga, southern Philippines, where DXAS is located, has a wonderful beachfront area with white sand, crystal-clear water, and oustanding seafood restaurants. Unfortunately, in the 1980's through the turn of the century, Zamboanga has been plagued with bombings and killings perpetrated by Abu Sayyaf, resulting in empty beaches.

FEBC Philippines headquarters in Valenzuela, Metro Manila..administration building. The impetus to construct this building came from FEBC New Zealand, who, in the intitial stages of its development sent volunteer crews from that country to manufacture the concrete blocks that formed the infrastructure of the building. It replaced the original building constructed in 1947-8. See #108.

Rear view of the DYVS Collins 21A transmitter which was retired for obvious reasons in 2003. Many of FEBC's original transmitters in the Regionals were second-hand or third-hand, obtained as donations or for nominal amounts. Replacement parts for these old transmitters eventually became unavailable, and contributed to slow deterioration, and the need for emergency "half-way repairs."

The original offices of FEBC at its founding were in the city of Los Angeles. In 1949 FEBC moved to the Los Angeles suburb of Whittier and purchased this residence for its headquarters, on Whittier Boulevard at Mills Ave. It was quickly outgrown, and sold in order to purchase a larger facility nearby. The structure was eventually demolished to make way for a small shopping center.

A local Karuhatan resident fills his water cans at the FEBC community water tap. In the period following World War II, pure water would have been a rare commodity. When FEBC finished drilling its well, we immediately made the water available to the local community, by means of a faucet placed just inside the front gate. Aerial view of CRCM’s 12 acres. The DZAS antenna sports a "hat," intended to increase the radiated power of the signal. Most short wave antennas have been dismantled and transferred to the new Bocaue site. The organized layout of the trees in the central portion are in fact an orchard laid out by the pre-war owner, and include Santol, Mabolo, Chico, Guava, Balambing, Star Apple, Mango and Casoy (Cashew) trees. FEBC made every effort to preserve the orchard and laid out many of the buildings in such a way to avoid removal of trees. [A publicity photo with a built-in label].

Photo essay: A barrio community poses with their new PM radio. This delightful photo was used widely to promote the distribution of PMs. An inscription attached to one of the photos reads in part: "Costing only $35.00 each to build, they are carefully and prayerfully constructed in CHRISTIAN RADIO CITY MANILA workshops. Thousands of souls have found CHRIST as their personal Saviour--scores have been baptized---churches have been established---young people have entered Christian training---ALL RESULTING FROM THE FAITHFUL MINISTRY OF THE LITTLE PM's." The radios were built beginning in 1950.
