1953   The General Daniel I. Sultan approaches Manila docks (or Sangley Point?). This ship had an illustrious history in WWII, the Korean and Vietnam wars. At the time his photo was taken (c. 1953)it belonged to the USNS Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS). The relationship of the photo to FEBC is conjectural; possibly the return of Philippine troops (PEFTOK) from the Korea campaign. FEBC provided a short wave service to Philippine troops, with messages of encouragement from their families. See also #909, #1089.
