1947   Postal cover. February 25, 1947. Undoubtedly the envelope contained information on the C.C.B.S. broadcasts, the first of which began on February 9. The reverse of the envelope demonstrates that an airmail letter from Shanghai to Los Angeles took about ten days, the same time it took for letters to cross the Pacific from Manila. This lag was the standard for several decades hence, forcing the use of the quite unreliable telephone in case of emergencies. Nothing can be learned about the Sincere Mercantile Company, Ltd.
