1964   Leon O. Ty was one of the most important figures in FEBC history. An influential Filipino, he helped smooth the way with the Philippine government in 1947 as FEBC applied for a license. He was editor/publisher of the Manila Examiner and was known for his outspoken and insightful editorial commentaries on Philippine life and politics. He was on FEBC-Philippines' first board of directors (see #8), and remained always a faithful friend of FEBC. See also #318, 478, 827.
