1955   The community of Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan, a scant 14 miles north of Manila, was a center of Hukbalahap (communist guerilla) activity until a rebel commander heard the gospel on the radio and believed. The community ultimately became loyal to the Philippine government and a Christian community rose up.
