1950   A view of Lake Taal in 1950, from the easterly end. Compared to later views of the magnificent lake, this scene shows scant populated areas, and a very small Volcano Island. A geologic wonder, the volcano erupts regularly, altering the terrain. Early Spanish maps show the lake as a bay which opened up to the ocean on the southwest end! See #1108 for an early view of the interior of Volcano Island.
