November 1999
Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.
1. Mr. H.T.H., Lam Dong
I have been a regular listener of Nguon Song Radio for many years. After a long day of hard work, in the evening, my family and I would gather around the radio receiver to listen to your broadcasts. Through your teaching of God's Word we have received much encouragement. Your radio broadcast is a great resource to our spiritual needs. Before we came to know Christ as our Savior, for many generations, my family practiced witchcraft. My father and grandfather used to be witchdoctors, every time there was some sickness in the family, we had to offer sacrifices to idols. But in 1991, praise God, we all became Christians. In the village where we live most people is very poor, and many of them do not know God. Please pray for them. Please also pray for us that we will stand firm in our faith, in spite of persecution. Your signals in the evenings are loud and clear, except once in a while, there is some interference from another station. I am writing today to request for some material such as gospel songs, a complete Bible, the Sermon on the Mount series, lessons 1-10 on marriage and family, lessons on the Millenium of God's Kingdom, an English Bible and some material on how to be an effective witness for Jesus.
2. Miss L.T.T.H., Lang Son
I grew up in a Christian home. Every day my parents would tune their radio to Nguon Song broadcast for the whole family to listen to. Therefore, I have enjoyed listening to your program since I was only 15. Through your broadcast, my love for God increased and my faith in Him strengthened. I have written to your several times and have also received material from you. Today, with this letter, I would like to request some other materials such as "Peace with God," "Why God is Silent?" and the 59-song Song Book. I wish to have this song book to sing praises to God everyday. Thank you and May God bless you all.
3. Mr. N.V.Q., Quang Ngai
I am a believer. Since my church is facing many difficulties, I do not go to church but just listen to Nguon Song Radio every day. Through your teaching of God's Word my heart has been touched and greatly encouraged, thanks to you all. Today I'm writing to you with the purpose of requesting for some printed materials, something that would help increase my understanding of God's Word, also help me to study the Bible more easily. I would also like to know how to live the Christian life and how to witness to friends and relatives, so please send me some booklets on Christian living or how to be a fruitful witness for the Lord. When you receive this letter please reply. Thank you.
4. Mr. N.T.P., Ho Chi Minh City
My first word is to wish you good health and strength to accomplish God-given tasks fruitfully. After mailing my previous letter, I was waiting to hear from you. Thank God I did not wait in vain because in the Listener's Mailbag program on Sept. 5 my letter was read among other letters. Although you only mentioned my letter briefly, I was very happy. Besides, I have received the two booklets that I requested: "Points to Ponder" and "Returning to Dust." Thank you. Before, I was an unbeliever but now I have accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I believe in the salvation that He has provided for me. Listening to your broadcasts helps me know more about God, my faith is strengthened and I now live a more meaningful life. However, since I could not understand or remember all the things that I've heard over the radio, I would like to request the following lessons in printed form, so I can study them again at my free time:
. A Bible
. Lessons on "True Love"
. "Why God is Silent"
. Lessons on Marriage and Family
. A Program Guide
I know that I am requesting too many things but I hope you understand my needs and will try to send me these materials. Thank you very much.
5. Miss N.T.M.L., Buon-me-thuot
This is the first time that I ever write to you. May God's blessings be upon each one of you, who are serving Him through the ministries of Nguon Song Radio. I am a Roman Catholic, who has just learned about your radio broadcasts. I would like to request some of your wonderful lessons, such as "Satan in Today's World" and lessons on marriage and family. I hope to receive these materials soon. Thank you.
6. D.V.H.L., Lam Dong
My name is D.V.H.L., I am a sophomore in High School. I would like to know who is the founder of FEBC and today how many people are involved in this ministry? I would also like to request a copy of the Vietnamese Bible, because Mom would not give me money to purchase one. I listen to your broadcast quite regularly and I hope that I will be able to correspond with you more often.
7. Mrs. L.T.B., My Tho
I am a midwife, 58 years of age. Through the help of some friends, I learned about your station and have been listening to your broadcasts since. I have just known about your broadcasting program recently but this ministry had been going on for 50 years. I feel sorry that I have missed out too much. Before, I did tune to your station once in a while, but did not pay much attention. Now, I think through the prayers of many friends, I really enjoy listen to your programs. I would like to receive the following materials:
. A Bible, it will be my treasure.
. "Points to Ponder"
. Bible Lessons or Bible Commentaries
. Lessons on the Fourth Commandment
. "Christianity and the Vietnamese People"
I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
8. Mr. N.H., Takhmau, Cambodia
I had received the gifts you sent, except the pen. Thank you so very much. On Sept. 25, in the program "Faith Illustrated," you mentioned the book "Pilgrims Progress," I would like to receive a copy of that book. And if I may, I would also like to request the books entitled "Streams in the Desert" and "Why God is Silent?" I love reading books, especially the writings of people from the Western culture. I hope that one of theses day I will receive the books mentioned above. Thank you.
9. Miss Y.M., Lam Dong
I thank God for His protection over me. I also thank God because He is using you in a special way for the expansion of His Kingdom. I have just listened to your Listener's Mailbag program and I think my letter has been lost somewhere, so I am now writing you again. I am from the K'ho tribe. I live in a remote area, far away from the city. There are no churches here and transportation is always a problem so I just listen to your programs. I am proud to be one of God's children but sometimes I am ashamed of myself because I have not done anything to glorify Him with my life. I would like to request some of the material from your broadcasts such as Marriage and Family, Basic Doctrines, and the lesson entitled "Being fruitful after Death." Where I live Christian books are scarce, I hope that you will send me these books. Please also pray for me that I will be able to take time to listen to your programs, in order to learn more about God. May God bless you all.
10. Mr. P.Q.D., Hai Duong
Through your daily broadcasts I have learned so much about Christianity. I wonder what church or Christian organization you belong to because all that I heard you talk about is God and no one else. After listening to your programs for some time, I realized that your teaching of the Bible is very profound and interesting. I would like to receive some Bible lessons and lessons on marriage and family, basic doctrines, and the two booklets: "Peace with God" and "Prayer." These are the materials I wish to have, I don't know whether or not I have to pay something to receive them, please let me know. Thank you very much.
11. Miss N.T.N.K., Da Nang
I have received the lesson on the Fourth Commandment. I thank God that He has allowed me to be in contact with you, so we can fellowship with each other in the love of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Beside the lesson on the Fourth Commandment, I wish to have some material on youth. If you have any, please send me some, I will really appreciate it. May the Lord bless you with the greatest blessing, so you can keep on preaching the Good News to our people here in Vietnam.
12. Mr. H.V.N., Tien Giang
I listen to your teaching of the Bible regularly. Today I would like to request the following materials:
. Satan in Today's World
. Noah and the Flood
. Love and Marriage
If you have any other lessons or books available to the listeners upon request, I would like to receive them also. Thank you.
13. Mr. T.V.B., Long An
I am one of your regular listeners. I have been listening to your Bible teaching broadcasts but I did not understand much. Would you help me by sending me a Bible and some books explaining the teachings of the Bible so that I can study it and know more about that Book? I will be looking forward to receiving your gift. Thank you and may God's peace be with each one of you.
14. Mr. L.P.T., Long An
Your radio broadcasts are of great help to the spiritual needs of the Vietnamese Christians and non-Christians as well. We have told many of our Christian and non-Christian friends about your programs. As for me, because of the time conflict, I have to record your broadcasts and then listen to them later at my own schedules. I would like to request the following lessons and materials to share them with friends in church:
. Basic Doctrines of Salvation
. Marriage
. Satan in Today's World
. Apologetics
If there is any other printed material available, please also send me some. I will make copies and give to other listeners. Thank you for your help. May God will continue to bless your ministries.
15. Mr. T.Q.T., Khanh Hoa
May your ministries be blessed until our Lord returns. To me, there is nothing that can compare with the joy of being able to listen to Nguon Song Radio. I especially enjoy listening to the program "Story of the Day" with the title "Science and Life." However, your music, i.e., songs and hymns, seems too simple, perhaps because you only use one instrument for the accompaniment? If I may, I would like to request a copy of the Doxology, in the English language. Thank you very much.
