October 2006
1. Mrs. HK USA
One day I decided to turn on the radio. When I heard the opening theme of Nguon Song ’s broadcast, I wanted to cry. The familiar music brought back memories of my childhood when my father would turn on the radio each morning and evening to listen to Nguon Song programming. I couldn’t believe that before I only heard you on the radio, but now I know your whole family. When I was a child, I would listen to the radio but had no idea it took so many people to work day in and day out to produce such programming. I thought that if you turned on the radio, people in the radio would just either preach or sing to you. I remembered one time you preached with a scratchy voice, my dad felt sorry for you and said to me that he felt sorry that you have to preach even though you were sick. I asked my dad, “Pastors on the radio get sick too?” My dad said, “Of course. It’s real people!” I just wanted to thank you for your hard work and your dedication to this ministry.
2. Mr. NVQ from Lam Dong
It’s been a while since I’ve listened to Nguon Song Broadcast. I have been quite ill for some time. Now I’ve recovered and I wanted to write to you so that you could pray for me. I wrote once before and asked about the meaning of the verse, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (Mt 7:7).” Now I’m asking that God would continue to heal me and that you would pray for me, so that I could have a clear mind to overcome darkness. Being uneducated and confused, I am stuck between the world of knowledge and modern technology. But thank God that I understand what is necessary to have my faith grow. Please pray that my faith will remain strong. By the way, you did write to me twice, but never answered my question regarding Matthew 7:7. God bless you.
3. Mr. TU from Da Nang
I am a Christian worshipping at a church in Da Nang . Please pray for our church. The typhoon Xangsane hit us hard. Our church members are okay, but their homes and properties have been heavily damaged. Please pray for the people here.
4. Mr. JNT from Lam Dong
I am a member of the Evangelical church in Duc Trong. Our church was built in 1973 and was renovated recently. At this moment, we are in the red. We need 1 million to complete our project. Could you help us? We also need gospel tracks in the koho dialect so that we could reach our people in this region. For myself personally, I would love to study God’s word deeper. If there are any resources you could send me that would be great. Thanks.
5. Mr. LNL,
Could you send me the lessons called, “The Life of Christ,” in printed form? There are 6 books in the series. Thank you.
6. Mr. LTPL, from Yen Bai , North Vietnam
Greetings to all of you. I live in Yen Bai, a far north region of Vietnam . I love your program. It’s superb and very beneficial. Can you send me something as a souvenir from your station? Thank you.
7. Mr. GM from Hai Phong
We are happy that we are able to communicate with you. We have been listening and reading your sermons and messages from your site, www.christian.net, for a while now. We would like to know what’s going on in the Christian world outside of Vietnam so that we can share the information with members in our church. I don’t know how to surf on the internet very well, so it would be great if you could show me how to surf the web and find information regarding life, faith and society of Christians in Vietnam as well as the world. Thank you.
8. Mr. From TMN
I would like to have a copy of the movie, “The Ten Commandments.” Thank you.
9. Mrs. KH
When I was a child, I learned about God through Nguon Song ’s Broadcast. I remembered that you had a children’s program, and I loved it. One day after 1975, I saw gospel tracks lying on the ground in the library of a collapsed tribal church building, and I picked up a few. After reading them, I prayed to accept Christ by myself. At that time, my parents did not allow me to go to church. But now I’m married with a wonderful six year old son, I realized that teaching children about the faith is very important. Please give me some websites that teaches children about the Bible. Thank you and May God bless you.
10. Mrs. HHTT from Ho Chi Minh City
Thank God. I was introduced to Nguon Song Broadcast by a friend who is a Christian. Through your ministry, I found something that I never knew before. I believe that what you teach over the radio are things that the Lord wants to reveal to all people, especially to me. I attend a church in Saigon . After ten years of being a Christian, I thought I would have become a mature in the faith. But now, my zeal has faded in comparison to when I first became a Christian. I am a faithful church goer. I have never missed a Sunday. But I’ve only seen growth physically and not spiritually. It could be due to listening to God’s word that it allowed me to be clean, but didn’t necessarily encourage me to grow. I am like a secret believer in this world. I find myself being busy in life, planning for the future, looking towards higher education, but found that all these things were meaningless. I want to serve God. I’m now more involved at my church, starting with little things. But my dream is to serve God with my whole life in the future. My biggest obstacle is my family. My mother and sister want me to have a good education and a job that pays well. Hopefully, they will realize God’s will for my life and help me in my quest to serve Him. Thank you for allowing me to share my heart.
11. Mr. BVK from Ho Chi Minh City
I would like to have all of your sermons and Bible studies that have been broadcasted in the evenings in 2006. Thank you.
12. Mr. KL from Lam Dong
Please pray for our church. We are a small church in Don Duong from the Churu tribe. Since 1975, we have not been able to meet for worship together. The church building was confiscated and then was demolished. Even the land was taken by the government. It wasn’t until 2000, we finally had our first church service with many restrictions and limitations. Last August, we were finally given permission to elect a governing board of the church. Please pray for our church that we could worship God like we did before 1975. Please pray that we could have a place to worship. Currently we have no building and we gather at a member’s house for worship. We are in need of Bibles, hymnals, and other resources in the Churu dialect. Thank you for your prayers.
13. Mr. NXV
First of all, we would like to send you our greetings in the Name of our Lord. My Bible study group has a few questions.
1. Is speaking in tongues a spiritual gift?
2. When filled with the Holy Spirit, would we all be able to speak in tongues?
3. If one speaks in tongues with no translator, is it heresy?
4. If a person doesn’t speak in tongues, does it mean he’s not filled with the Holy Spirit?
5. How many types of “tongues” are there?
6. Is it true that the purpose of speaking in tongues is for praying to God and building ourselves?
These are some of the questions that I have not been able to answer. Please help!
14. Mr. L USA
God has really blessed us through listening to Nguon Song . On behalf of my family, I wanted to let you know that we will continue praying for your ministry. If we wanted to give financially to this ministry, how would we do it? Please contact us.
15. Mr. DBL
I love listening to Christian music. I would really like to have a copy of some music. If you could send some CD’s to me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
16. Mr. NXV,
Thank you for answering my questions. May God bless you and your ministry. I also wanted to thank-you for praying for my friend, Son, a member of our Bible study group, who was in an auto accident. Thank God that he is recovering. He can identify people and understand what is being said to him. Please pray for Son that he would recover completely and quickly, and that through this accident his family would see the power of God and the love from his fellow Christian friends and they would come to Christ in Faith.
17. Mr. HL Hanoi
I was very excited when I received your letter. You guessed right. I am a college student in Hanoi . Anyway, since your files online were too big for me to download, could you send me any book that has been published through you. If at all possible, I would love to have a copy of Saturday and Sunday broadcasts. These messages seem to be more impact to me than the weekday programming. May God bless all of you.
18. Mr. NTS Vung Tau
I am writing this letter to request some Bible lessons from your broadcast so that we can know God better and grow in our faith. Thank you for sending resources in the past. It is much appreciated. Please pray for us so that we can stand firm in our faith and please send us lots of resources so that we can continue to grow in our faith. Thank you.
