September 1999
Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.
1. Mr. VD, Binh Dinh
Since I have just accepted Christ as my personal Savior seven months ago, I am a new member of the evangelical church in Nhon Thanh village. I cannot go to church on every Sunday however, because the church is far from home and I only have a bicycle. But praise God, a friend of mine lends me his radio, and now my family and I can listen to your broadcast every day. Through your teaching of God's Word, we're comforted and encouraged. Before, when we did not know the Lord, we had neither hope nor peace, but now we have hope and peace in God. Since my memories are not very good, I would like to have some of your lessons in printed form, so that I can read them in my spare time and learn more about the truth of God's Word. Thank you.
2. Mr. DVH, Hai Phong
I am a faithful listener of Nguon Song broadcast. Your programs have taught me so much. It also strengthens my faith in God. When I was weak, your messages lifted me up, and when I was discouraged, you encouraged me with the Word of God. From May 30, 1999 until today however, I could not listen to your program anymore. It seems that there is another station broadcasting on the same frequency... There are very few Christian materials for the nurturing of the believers in the house churches, therefore Nguon Song broadcast is almost my only resource, equipping me for ministries. I would like to request a hymnbook, and the book entitled "Foundation for Love and Marriage." Thank you.
3. Mr. NDL, Quang Nam
When I was in Ha Noi last July, I met a number of the Hmong Christians. It's wonderful to know that the majority of them came to faith in Christ through listening to FEBC's Hmong broadcast. These broadcasts are now the main source of spiritual food for them. I have received lessons from the series "Sermons on the Mount," thank you very much. I hope you will also send me materials from other programs such as, "Basic Christianity" and "Words of Hope."
4. Mrs. PTCH, Can Tho
My husband and I are Christians. When I lived with my uncle in Saigon, I liked to hear Pastor M. preach. Now I can listen to him through FEBC broadcast. I've listened to your program for two years. My husband and I are farmers but we wish to be in full time service for the Lord. As of now, because we have to work in the field everyday and also to take care of our baby, we can only be involved in the youth group at church. We listen to your broadcast every morning of the week, including Sunday. I would like to request some Bible lessons or other materials but I don't think we will ever receive them. May the Lord bless you all and please remember us in your prayers. Thank you.
5. Mr. CVP, Kien Giang
I haven't written to you for some time, because I was too poor and could not afford the cost of postage. However, every evening, my family and I listen to your broadcast. I was surprised and really touched when receiving your Christmas card and a small calendar. Thank you for remembering me even though you did not hear from me for a long time. Today, with the money I was able to save, I write to you to request for the following materials:
. Lessons on marriage and family and marriage preparation
. Understanding your Teenagers
. Science and Faith
. True Love
. Happiness in Marriage
. Peace with God
. Christianity and the Intellects
. Points to Ponder
Sorry, I request too many things, but since I can only write to you once in a while, I hope you'll understand. Please send me everything you have altogether at one time, so that I don't have to write often. In my neighborhood, many people now begin to listen to Nguon Song programs. They are also very poor but Nguon Song broadcast brings them hope and comfort. Please pray for them. Thank you.
6. Mr. T.P.C., Da Nang
My greetings to all of you, who are God's faithful servants serving Him at FEBC. I have received your letter and the five lessons I requested. Thank you for tending to my needs. I said to myself: who am I that these people have to take care of my needs? We are unworthy people because my parents and grandparents are only poor fishermen. But by God's love, He has saved many in my family. I thank God for the five lessons that you sent. I read them over and over again. Some of my friends wish to have these lessons, so I let them borrow it. Now wherever I go, I'd tell people about Nguon Song broadcast. It is my way of sharing my faith with non-Christians. May God continue to bless your ministries in a special way.
7. Mr. NTXT, Ho Chi Minh City
I listen to your broadcast everyday and follow closely every program. I also remember to pray for you every time I come before the Lord. May He bless your ministries and families in a special way. I've heard in one of your announcements that there're some materials now available to the listeners, such as "Satan in Today's World," "Pillars of Salvation," and small-size English Bibles. If it would be possible, I would like to request all of the above materials. Thank you for your consideration.
8. From TND & NTH, Ho Chi Minh City
Due to many reasons, my friend and I cannot listen regularly to your broadcast. However, about twenty years ago, my friend, NTH, had become a Christian through Nguon Song's broadcast. Today as we listened to your program, we learned that there are some booklets available for those who request. This announcement prompted us to write to you. We would like to have the following materials:
. Satan in Today's World
. Sermon on the Mount
. Faith and Happiness
Please pray that these booklets will reach us safely. Thank you and may God bless you.
9. Mrs. TNT, Ho Chi Minh City
Thank you for writing to me. I love to listen to your program because I want to learn more of God's Word. However, I cannot listen on a regular basis, because it is very difficult to find your station in the morning, and in the evening when I come home from church, your broadcast is over. Whenever you send me some material through the post office, I rarely receive it. In spite of all of these difficulties, I am not discouraged. I will write to you again whenever I have the opportunity to do so. May the Lord bless your ministries so that many people in Viet Nam will hear the Good News and come to Christ for salvation.
10. Mr. NDT, Binh Dinh
I've been listening to your broadcast for quite some time but have never written to you. Today as I write to you, I hope that you would be able to send me some materials that I wish to have. Being able to hear the Word of God preached over the radio wave, I am very encouraged. Your teachings about God, His Word as well as about nature are very interesting and practical. I would like to have some of those lessons or sermons in printed form so that I can read them or study them again. I would like to receive the following materials:
-
. A copy of the Vietnamese-English New Testament
- . "Satan in Today's World"
- . "Marriage & Family"
- . Sermon on the Mount"
- . "Springs in the Desert"
- . "Bearing fruit after Death"
- . "Foundation to True Happiness"
- . "Facing Temptations"
- . "Why God is Silent?"
These are the lessons I would like to have, you can send me one or two lessons each time. Besides, I would like to have a program guide, so I can easily follow your broadcasts. Thank you very much.
11. Mr. NTV, Ha Tay
I listen to your broadcast quite regularly. Through it I have learned a lot. It helps me know more about God and as a result, I now love Him more and have a close relationship with Him. Thanks to you all because it was your labor and hard work that many have come to God and put their faith in Him. I would like to request some material for my own study, such as, Sermon on the Mount, Satan in Today's World, Marriage and Family, etc. I hope to receive these materials soon. Thank you.
12. Mr. NT, Ho Chi Minh City
I listen to your broadcasts and Bible lessons very regularly, in the evening, from 8 to 9:30. I would like to have a copy of the lesson from the "Science & Life" program, broadcasting on June 29, 1999, about dreams and the life of King Solomon. I wish to share this lesson with my family and friends. How happy we would be if we could have all of the lessons from your broadcasts. I hope you will send us these lessons so that we can study them and grow stronger in our faith. Praise God and thank you all.
13. Mr. NH, Quang Nam
I was so happy upon receiving your letters and gifts. Within only one week I received from you three packages. Thank you for providing me some material to help me learn and share the Word of God with others. The way by which you sent the booklets to me last time seems quite safe, but I think it costs you a lot more. May the Lord provide all of your needs so that you can continue bringing the Word of God to many people. Thank you for your help.
