August 1999
Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.
1. Mr. T.Q.T., Buon Ma Thuot
Perhaps you're happy to receive my letter? I wanted to write to you for a long time but didn't have a chance until today. First of all, I'd like to wish each one of you the best wishes. May God give you good health so that you can accomplish the tasks He is giving you. I also pray that every one who listens to your broadcast will have a better understanding of God's Word and increase in his love for Him. Do you know that every time I listen to your lovely voice, a happy and peaceful feeling fills my heart. I think it's a blessing and great privilege for me to be able to hear your teaching of God's Word. Your sermons from the Scriptures and lessons on daily living were brought to us from your loving hearts, and that's why they can bring changes to our lives. They helped me love God more and willing to share what I have with those who are less fortunate than I am. Although you are not my teachers in a direct way, through your teaching over the airwaves, I consider you as my teachers. You are teaching me every day, just like my teachers at school. Since you've been serving God faithfully and sacrificially, I promise to you that I will try to be a better student of the Word... I would like to request a copy of the book entitled "Foundations of Salvation." Thank you for reading my letter and tending to my request. May God bless you all.
2. Mrs. C.T.H.Q., Ho Chi Minh City
I thank God for allowing me to write to you after a long period of "silence." I praise the Lord because He is using you in a wonderful, though subtle way, to bring great glory to His Name and blessings to many people, and I am one of them. Although I cannot listen to your broadcast regularly, I have the privilege of reading some of your printed materials. Recently, a friend of mine lent me your Bible commentaries on the Gospel of Matthew, and oh, I've learned so much from reading it. I wish that I could have the whole set of these commentaries, on every book of the Bible, so that I can have some wonderful tools in order to lead my Bible study group more effectively. Somehow I believe that you can help my wish come true. Once again, thank you for working so hard to teach us the Word of God. May God richly bless each one of you for ... "your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
3. Mrs. L.T.B.T., Tay Ninh
I've received your letter dated Oct. 26, 1998. It gave me great encouragement and I deeply appreciated your care for me. Although living in a chaotic and deceitful society, I believe that God is with me, He is working in me, making me a new person and drawing me closer to Him everyday. In the letter you said that some booklets had been sent to me, including "Love and Marriage I", "True Happiness," and a daily devotion, however, as of today, I haven't received any of them. Anyway, thank you so much for trying to meet my needs.
4. Mr. H.T.L., Kien Hoa
I am 18 years of age. Because of my parents' financial problem, I had to quit school. Every time I listen to Nguon Song's broadcasts, a wonderful joy fills my heart. Your signal these days is very good. I listen to your program in the evenings, and at 9 o'clock, during the Bible Reading program, I would open my Bible and follow as you read until 9:30. Both of my parents are Christians. My Mother is a devoted witness for Christ. Every evening she would go to her friends and neighbors to talk to them about the Lord Jesus. I often go with her to observe and learn from her. My dream is that someday I would be able to go to different places, witnessing for the Lord and many will be saved. My family came to the Lord about 7 years ago, and for the past 7 years, we have had Bible studies three times a week. I wish to have a motorcycle to get around so we can go to church and go witnessing more easily. We have been praying for this for 4 years, and we believe that God will answer our prayers.
5. Mr. N.H. , Quang Nam
Thank the Lord, I received your letter in June of last year. It has been exactly one year since you wrote and told me that you had sent me some books, and until today, I have received nothing. In a country where the authorities try all they can to stop and destroy Christianity, it's not easy to receive Christian material by mail. May I suggest something concerning how to send the much-needed material to your listeners? Because of your love for God and your willingness to help others learn God's Word, could it be possible if you would print all of the Bible lessons in very fine prints and thin paper, and then send them not as book but just as personal letters. I think by this way we would receive them more easily. And then we would enlarge them and make copies to share them with other Christians. I would like to request some lessons on marriage, giving and women of the Bible. May God bless you all.
6. Mr. N.V.C., Ho Chi Minh City
I am a believer, 62 years of age. Last week, I accidentally tuned to your station and heard your teaching of God's Word, on the short wave 41meter band. Perhaps because your station is far away, the signal was not very strong; at one minute it was loud and clear, then the next minute it just disappeared completely. Although it's kind of difficult to follow your broadcast, I try to listen to it every evening, from 7 to 9. It helps me understand more of God's Word, especially the teachings of the Lord Jesus. It also helps me to apply the Word of God into my daily life. I would like to request the following materials: A copy of the NIV Bible, the two booklets "The Gospel for the Vietnamese people" and "Why God is silent?" Thank you.
7. Mr. N.H.A., Binh Thuan
Since the day we heard the announcement over one of your "Listener's Mailbag" programs until today, it's has been almost two years and we still did not receive the materials you sent. We think it's just a waste of your effort, time and money so from now on we would not request anything, knowing that even if you send us what we request, unless sent by registered mail, we would never get it. While the whole world is changing, making progress to be ready for the third millenium, our country has not changed at all, in any aspect. It's hopeless!
8. Mrs. N.T.N.H., Tien Giang
It's a great joy for our family to hear from you. Your letter came as a big surprise because we had given up the hope of receiving anything from you. All of the sermons and Bible lessons broadcast through Nguon Song airwaves are very close to my heart. After many years, it is still in my mind. I was moved when receiving the lessons entitled "Foundation of True Happiness." I shared it with a non-Christian friend, and he liked it too! He also loves to listen to your broadcasts, but he had never come to church even though I have asked him many times. Please pray for him. Thank you.
9. Mr. T.A.T., Ho Chi Minh City
On April 18, 1999, I received a package from you, including a letter and two booklets: "Facing Temptations" and "Satan in Today's World." Thank you so very much. This time, I would like to request a small-sized English Bible and Nguon Song songbook. Thank you and God bless.
10. Miss L.M.H, Ho Chi Minh City
I've received the booklet "Facing Temptations" and a program guide, thank you. Among your many programs, I like best the "Science & Faith" and "Shelter of Life." May God continue to bless you as you bring His Word to the world.
11. Mr. H.T.K, Ho Chi Minh
I have been growing in the faith through listening to Nguon Song's broadcasts. Thank you and may God give you strength to carry on His work. (This listener sent three poems that he has written to praise God for His love for him).
12. Mr. N.V.L., Hai Duong
Before, I had written to you twice but did not hear from you at all. Then I wrote again and received one letter from you. In October 1998, through the "Listener's Mailbag" program, I learned that you have sent me two booklets, which are "Christianity and the Intellects" and "Satan in Today's World," but until now I have not received anything! I don't know what to do except praying and waiting.
13. Mr. N.D.L., Quang Nam
I was so happy upon receiving your letter and some of the materials that I have requested. Thank God and thanks to you all. Last time, after receiving the booklet "Foundation of True Happiness," I made 50 copies of it and gave to my non-Christian friends. Many said they enjoyed reading that book. This time, I've received four more lessons on different subjects, such as the Holy Spirit, prayers and family living. I will try to make more copies of these materials and share them with members of my church. Thank you for your help. However, I have not received the lessons entitled "Peace with God" or "Satan in Today's World." If it's available, I also would like to have some of the lessons from the series "Words of Hope." Thank you.
