Responses from Vietnamese Listeners

August 2004

From Mr. N. V., Da Nang

Praise God that He is keeping everyone on Nguon Song’s staff in good health. My family and I live in a very remote area. There’re not many believers around here and there’s no Christian church for us to worship. From time to time, some Christian friends and I would get together for worship, just 3 to 5 of us. However, we’re able to hear Nguon Song broadcasts twice a day, so we are doing OK spiritually. We thank God for giving us such a wonderful way to learn His Word, and thanks to you, all of the Pastors and Teachers, for tending to our needs. My family and I had been brought from darkness to light. Now we know what sin is as well as what are the blessings from God. We thank God every time we listen to your programs. Now, whether we are in a good or not so good situation, in good health or in sickness, we always give thanks to the Lord, for we know that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Concerning our physical needs, we are doing fine, God is giving us just what we need day by day. As long as we live on this earth, we know that we will have to face temptations and hardship, so we are trying hard to keep in a close relationship with God through prayers and the study of His Word. Thank you again for your faithful service.

From Mr. H.V.A., Tien Giang

I thank God because even though I have gone through many difficulties in life, He still allows me to listen to your broadcast everyday. To me, the time that I listen to your program is the most blessed hours of my day, especially on Sundays, when I can worship with you over the airwave. Praise God that He knows just exactly what His children need, and sends His Word to everyone of them, so that we can be strengthened and encouraged in whatever situation we find ourselves in. It was God’s Word that helps us to overcome trials, stand firm in persecution, and remain faithful to Him. I apologize for not writing to you more often though I have received everything you sent to me. In recent years I have been able to listen to your program every day. Your signal is very clear, both in the mornings and evenings. I also told many people about your broadcast, hoping that many will listen and find salvation in Christ. Thank God, your website is very good and handy. Through it I can now print out as many lessons and sermons as I would like to, in Vietnamese or in English. This is what I had dreamed of for so long. I can see that God is blessing your ministries, through it the Gospel message is being brought to more and more people on a daily basis. May the Lord bless you abundantly with good health and spiritual gifts so that you can serve Him even more effectively to bring glory to His Name.

From Mr. L.D.T., Da Nang

I feel so happy and encouraged when I received your letter that I want to write back to you right away. First of all, thank you for remembering me. I was deeply touched by your love and care for me. May the Lord bless you all with strength and good health, and may He cover you all in His wonderful love. I pray that God will give you grace to accomplish the great tasks He has given to you. Now I would like to report about the quality of your radio signals. In the morning, from 5:30 to 6:00, it’s very difficult to locate your frequency plus there’s a lot of static. If I move the dialing knob slightly, the broadcast would be lost completely. In the evening, from 7 to 9, however, the broadcast is very clear. I think that’s good enough for us. I am thankful that God has given mankind this wonderful means of communication, through which the Gospel message is being preached to people in many countries. As for me, I have learned many things about prayers. It is the mighty weapon to fight against Satan and the devils, and to turn problems into blessings. It has been 25 years since the day I decided to follow Christ in a pagan society. I have totally committed my life to Him. Being over 80 years of age, though I no longer hear or see very well, my spirit as well as my faith is still strong. Every day I look forward to the time of worshipping God together with you over the radio. I don’t write to you very often because in the last six months I wrote four times, and receive no reply from you. I believe that you are very busy with all of the radio programs so I don’t want to bother you anymore. Although we are thousands of miles from each other, every time I hear your friendly voices, I feel very close to you. May the Lord give you peace and joy as you serve Him.

I am so glad that today I can find the time to write to you. I am a regular listener of your program. Your teaching has helped me a great deal in my understanding of the Word of God and His purpose for my life. Please pray for me so that I will grow strong in my faith in the Lord Jesus, not only for me but also for my family, my neighbors and every one in my country that many people will come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior, to have true peace in their heart. Although I have been a Christian for many years, I have not accomplished any thing for the Lord. I hope that at least I can be a good example for my family and my friends. This is my first time writing to you so if there’s anything unpleasing to you, please forgive me. I would like to request the following materials:

. The Praise Song Book
. The booklet: Faith and Marriage
. An English Hymnal

Thank you for your help.

I love to listen to Nguon Song broadcast. Thank you for all wonderful things you teach me from God’s Word. I am a member of the Catholic Church in Rach Gia. The lessons and sermons in your broadcasts are very helpful to me. They help increase my knowledge about life and my understanding about Christ Jesus. Once again, thank you for teaching me and helping me to grow in the faith.

Greetings to you all! I am a Catholic but the other day I happened to hear your broadcast. Then I found out that the doctrines that you are teaching are not much different from Catholic doctrines. Sometimes, the things that you teach are easier for me to understand. It helps me a lot more in my Christian walk as well as to know God’s will for my life. Again, thank you so very much. May God bless your work abundantly so that your programs will be enriched and expanded even more.

On August 17, I learned so much from your teaching about a man who had been paralyzed for many years. The man lying by a pool hoping to be healed when the water is stirred but no one come to help him. Only Jesus helped him and healed him... I would like to have this lesson to read again, to strengthen my faith. I would also like to share this lesson with some of my non-Christian friends. Besides, I would also like to receive the materials from the program “Life Callings.” I hope you will help me obtain these valuable materials. Thank you. This is my street address:....

I am so glad to receive your letter sooner than I expected. Please convey my greetings and appreciation to every one on Nguon Song’s staff. May the Lord give you wisdom to do the work that He has given to you. I wish that you and I would be in good relationship as sisters in Christ. I am sorry for not writing to you during the past two months. I was so happy when receiving the book you sent to me. I was deeply touched with your kindness. All of the books that you sent to me before, I have received them all. I am really sorry for not writing to let you know and to thank you for it... I listen to your sermons every Sunday evening. Recently your messages are on the Epistles to the Thessalonians. I’d tried to write it down but could not get it all. Could you send me these sermons? I would also like to have the series on I & II Timothy. Many thanks. We worship at TMG Church, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Best wishes to you all. Your evening broadcasts, from 8 to 9:30 have been not very clear lately. I hope something can be done to correct it. I would like to request the followings: Lessons from “Faith Illustrated” programs, some Philippines stamps and Gospel songs on cassette tapes. Thank you and God bless.
