Responses from Vietnamese Listeners

July 2003

Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.

From H.B.L.K., via e-mail

Last Tuesday evening I listened to Nguon Song programs and had a wonderful time. I haven't listened to your broadcast for a long time. Listening to your broadcasts in a big city like Saigon gave me a different feeling, unlike when I listened in the rural area. Anyway, your programs that day were very good, especially the "Words of Hope" program, based on Galatians 4:8-20. I learned so much from it. Your signal that day came out pretty good, the announcer's voice was very convincing. The Bible reading part after that was also very interesting, and the song "Who is Jesus?" was very special. Thank you so very much for such a wonderful program.

To tell you the truth, if the preaching of the Word of God in churches on Sundays do not nurture your soul, it's better to stay home and listen to Nguon Song broadcast. Some friends of mine and I have had a heated debate about how long a sermon should be so that it would be effective and not become boring to the congregation. I think it would be a good idea if you would talk about this subject in one of your programs someday. Most of our pastors here need more training in their preaching. My point of view is that those who preach the Word of God should do it in such a way that people will enjoy it rather than think of it as something boring and hard to understand. Your programs are over all very good, they are not too long and there's always music in between which makes it very attractive and interesting to the listeners. May God be with you always in your work, so that each of your broadcast will be a message of blessing to His children.

From Mr. D.H.L., Hai Phong - via e-mail

May the grace of God be with each one of you, anointing your life and ministry in a special way. My name is D. H. L., I am from Hai Phong, North Vietnam but right now, I stay in Vinh Phuc, a small village, to serve in a local church. I listen to Nguon Song radio programs quite often and have greatly been encouraged by them. Because I had to travel to a place far away from home, I could not bring with me all the books and materials needed for my ministry, I hope you can help me by sending to me some sermon outlines or any material you think would be of help to me. You can send them via e-mail. May God be with you every day as you serve Him, so that through your radio ministries, many people will be added into the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. I always pray for you.

From Mr. T.N.B., Ho Chi Minh City - via e-mail

I really appreciate your sermon in the Worship Hour on Sunday June 8, at 7:00pm.Here are some suggestions and information:

1. Please give us the names of your announcers as other radio stations do.

2. Please give the title of the songs in your broadcast so we would know what song it is.

3. I think you had sent me a song book about two years ago, but I have not received it yet.

4. I have recently received from someone in Hong Kong a Bible and 2 song sheets without any problem.

5. I hope you will preach the verses from the Bible in a simple way, easy to understand to every one. Some of your sermons in the past were difficult to understand. I was born in 1934.

From a college student (no name given), Ho Chi Minh City, via e-mail

Warm greetings to everyone with Nguon Song Radio Station in Manila, Philippines. I am so glad that I can contact you in the love of God. This is my fourth time e-mailing to you, and yet I have not received any reply from you. Perhaps the messages that I sent to the other address could not reach you, so this time I am using your new e-mail address. I am a college student, also a Christian. I would like to receive some booklets from you, actually some gospel tracts, so I could give them to my non-Christian friends, to share my faith with them. Thank you for your help.

From H.B., via e-mail

By chance one day I tuned to your broadcast, it was at the end of the program so I didn't get to hear much of it. I therefore do not know the kind of program that you have nor the time of your broadcast. And then the next day I tried to find your station again on my radio but could not find it. Please give me the name of your web site on the Internet so I could listen to your broadcast more easily. Thank you.

From Mr. T.C.T., via e-mail

I thank God and at the same time, thank you for sending me the series "Sermon on the Mount." I have received sermons # 1, 2 and 6 via e-mail with no problem at all. They are clear and easy to read. I have printed them out and made copies to share them with some friends. I think sending these materials this way is better than through the post office, because religious materials are sometimes not allowed into the country. Once again, thank you and may God give you and your family good health and many blessings from Him. May God continue to use you all in a mighty way so that every day there will be more sinners being saved into His Kingdom.

From Miss C.T.P.A., via e-mail

I have received all the lessons you sent to me. I will use them in the devotion time of my small group in the church. Thank you for supporting me in my service to the Lord. Right now I also need Bible lessons for children, lessons with visual aids such as pictures or craft books. If you could help provide our church with these materials we really appreciate it.

From Miss H.T.N.D., Long An

Praise God for allowing me to "meet" you every day through Nguon Song radio broadcast. I especially thank you for writing to me and sending me the lesson "The Opportunities to Preach the Gospel," on March 10, 2003. I thank you also for praying for my mother. Even though as of now she has not yet come to faith in Christ, I believe that God is still working in her heart and one of these day, will bring her to that decision. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you so much for your love and concern for my family. For now I would like to request lessons #1 to 5 on the "Basic Theology" program. I need to study more about God and His Word in order to grow stronger in the faith. Thank you. May the Lord bless you and guide you every day so that through your ministries many will come to know Christ as their own Savior.

From Miss H.T.B., Lam Dong

I am a Nung woman who has come to faith in Christ eleven years ago. My tribe has many limitations in many ways, especially in our language. However, my deepest desire is that my people will be able to hear the gospel in the Nung dialect so that they can come to Christ to be saved. We hope you will pay attention to our request. Our village has had a revival recently and many people have come to Christ. These new Christians wish to hear Nguon Song's broadcast in their own language to learn more about God. Long ago in the past I did listen to Nung program, at 6 o'clock every Monday evening. But that has been changed. Now we do not know the time or the day of our broadcast, nor do we know the frequency. We hope that you will take this into consideration and give us the information needed. Being new Christians, we need to be encouraged and nurtured in the faith. Most of us came to faith alone, (probable meaning with no support from families or local churches), but we believe that because of the prayers of other Christians, including yours, that we are still standing firm today. Besides, there are many Nung people who need to hear the gospel through FEBC broadcast. We're sharing this concern with you, hoping that you will pray for us and will do what you can to help our people. May God be with you always, and on behalf on the Nung people, we thank every one on FEBC's Vietnamese staff.

From Mr. D.S., Cambodia

On behalf of a Baptist Church (in Cambodia,) I would like to send greetings to the Vietnamese staff of FEBC. May the Lord bless you and you works abundantly. We're very glad when we're able to listen to your teaching about faith in Christ Jesus over the radio. The programs that we love the most are Old Testament Theology and Basic Theology, by Dr. Phu Le. Since we cannot remember every thing we heard, we would like to have these lessons in printed forms. Please send us lessons from these programs: Basic Theology, Old Testament Theology and Basic Christianity. We pray that God's blessing will be upon your ministries so through it many will come to know our Lord, believe in Him and grow in their faith.

From Mr. D.Q.D., Ho Chi Minh City

I had sent you an e-mail before, and today I am writing you this letter to let you know that I have always wanted to learn the Word of God. Now I think I have listened to all of your programs. Every one of them is very good, rich in content and yet easy to understand. They are also from the Scriptures which makes them valuable. While awaiting to receive the requested materials, I would like to express my love and appreciation toward your ministries. May God bless you all abundantly.
