Responses from Vietnamese Listeners

March 2004

Mr. T.T.N., Connecticut, USA

Thank you to all the staff of Nguon Song. Ever since I learned about your broadcast, I love listening every day. Nguon Song has completely changed my life. I have given up time that I used to spend reading newspapers and watching TV about unimportant things, and have been tuning in to hear God’s Word instead. When I listen to your broadcasts, I no longer feel worry about work nor I have to compete to get ahead in life, because I feel at peace in my heart. I thank God and I thank you all for bringing the Good News to me, and to other people who will come to know the Lord. May God bring many blessing to all of you. Please send me FEBC magazine or e-mail me.

Mr. B.T., Vung Tau

I feel so honored that Nguon Song sends me a Christmas card every year. I received it, but was not able to write back, I hope you understand. Today I write to you to share something from my heart. The place I go to worship is about 10 miles away. The believers there have a tough commute, and there is no pastor. Even so, we continue to worship God every week. Because we haven’t had a pastor for the past 10 years, I write to you on behalf of 41 believers of all ages. Please help us in any way you can so that we can grow in the faith. Not too long ago, I received a Christmas card from you. In it, you mentioned 3 points: 1. That you are the Voice of Love, Truth and Hope. 2. You are a genuine, evangelical Christian radio station. 3. You support Christians and Christian organizations. I hope that you can help our group in some way, because I am 67 years old. Thank you very much.

Mr. D.T.H., Hue

I am very glad and I thank God, I just received your letter. May God always bless you abundantly. Every time I receive something from you, it is only a card or a program guide, without a letter and I wonder why. If you write back to me this time, please include a letter. I really look forward to letters from you. I am a little sad that my wife still has not come to faith in God. I tune in to Nguon Song’s broadcast every evening, and my wife listens too. Please pray that she will join God’s family with me some day soon.

Regarding your signal, these days the morning broadcast is very clear. However, in the evenings there are stronger signals that cause some interference, but it’s really not so bad. My hope is that more and more people will listen to Nguon Song every day. And I hope that you are all in good health so that your ministry to preach the Good News to Vietnam and the whole world will continue, that many people will hear and become believers.

I recently gave your address to my pastor. He has written to you, did you receive it? I hope his letter will get to you safely.

Mr. D.X.T., Ho Chi Minh City

I truly thank God, and was so touched to receive your letter. I am really sorry that it has been so long since I’ve written to you. I have been living in Saigon since 2001 to attend school. I moved here to learn English and study the Bible. Right now I am fellowshipping with the youth group at church. I pray that I will be able to use my spiritual gifts to serve here in the church. Ever since I moved here, I still set aside time to listen to Nguon Song, mostly in the morning from 5:30 to 6:30 AM. The signal used to get lost, making it difficult to hear. But that doesn’t happen anymore. There’s nothing I want as much as for more people to hear the Gospel over the airwaves. Every Friday morning my friend, my group leader and myself pray for Vietnam and the church, and we always remember to pray for the strength of Nguon Song’s signal. We also pray that many people will hear Nguon Song, and that through Nguon Song, individual people and families will hear God’s Word.

Some of my classmates also listen to you through www.vietchristian.net/nguonsong. I have also been encouraging my other friends to listen, and sometimes I bring my radio to the dining hall (especially in the evenings) so that we can listen while we eat. The content of your broadcast is very rich and good. I really like to listen to these programs. Even though I was really busy last Christmas, I still listened regularly to the Christmas messages. If possible, my friends and I would like to request some of your sermons and some tapes about Marriage and Family. Thank you.

Mr. D.A.D., Lam Dong

I have received your Christmas/New Year card. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Nguon Song has nurtured my faith daily. You are my life companion whom I love very much and respect. May God bless you in many ways.

Mr. N.N.H., via e-mail

I am a member of the evangelical church in Vietnam. I want to participate in God’s work. I have been trying to record your broadcasts and copy tapes to send to people in the rural areas so that they can hear God’s Word too. Now I plan to record off the Internet. I think it might turn out clearer. Please pray for me and if you can help me in any way to carry out this project in a better way, I would really appreciate it. God bless you.

Mr. L.H.T., via e-mail

I am a regular Nguon Song listener. I think of Nguon Song as spiritual food that I cannot do without.

Miss K.N., via e-mail

I am a member of a church in Saigon. I had been witnessing to my sister while she was living in Vietnam, but she did not pay much attention to what I said. Now she is living in Holland, and when I continued to tell her about God, she became interested. But now I am unable to send her anything because religious materials are considered illegal here. I would like to ask you to send my sister some materials so that she can learn about salvation and God’s love for her. You can also give her your website, wherever your program can be heard. Please also pray that she will soon come to know the Lord.

Mr. N.H.D., Utah, USA via e-mail

I received the copy of The Pilgrim’s Progress together with a Christmas card, thank you! The first time I listened to Nguon Song, I saw that there were so many wonderful features that you put together. You also said that you would send materials to anyone who requests them, so we wrote and we received your gifts! We didn’t write back to you right away, because I didn’t know what to write at first. Besides, we only listened to you on the weekends, while we did laundry and cleaned the house... I don’t know, is that disrespectful to God? Listening to Nguon Song cheered me up while I did my chores and strengthened my faith. You bring the Good News, and your task is God-given. Sowers should sow according to their abilities, and God will take care of the results.

Once again, thank you for bringing joy to our hearts. One of my sisters would like to request the lessons on Women of the Bible. If possible, please send all the lessons on the Old Testament Women. At the beginning of June, we are going to Vietnam for 3 months and will have more time to listen to Nguon Song there.
