February 2000
Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.
1. Mr. T.V.B., Tien Giang
We just received your gift recently, although it is small but very meaningful. Thank you for loving and caring for us even though we are only some insignificant listeners among your thousands listeners in the country. Your loving concern for us was indeed a great encouragement for us. We are encouraged to serve God among our own people here in this small town. We are praying that as Christ's ambassadors, you will continue to bring the Gospel message to this land so that many will come to Him for salvation and eternal life.
2. Mr. V.H.T., Quang Nam
I have been a faithful listener of your radio broadcast since 1972. Through your messages of salvation in Christ and through some gospel tracts, I have come to know Christ as my Lord and Savior that year. With this letter I would like to request the following materials:
. A Bible Commentary
. A book on marriage and family
. The book entitled: "Satan in Today's World"
. The daily devotionals for January and February, 2000
We also need some material that would help us have a right perspective about the Pentecostal Church. By the way, Nguon Song's signal is very weak in comparing with the signal of the Catholic broadcast. May the Lord bless you and your ministries abundantly.
3. Miss D.T.K.P., Tien Giang
In the last several months I have written you three letters, however, I don't think you received any of them. I wanted to write you to request sermon transcripts to learn more about God's Word, but I did not receive the sermons and the songbook you sent me. All I received was a letter and a pen. Today I would like to request a New Translation Bible. Please send it to my friend in the city, as I will be more likely to receive it if sent there. Here, I live everyday by the Word of God through Nguon Song radio. Your station has taught and comforted me much. Please pray for my small church in this village. Thank you.
4. Mr. T.V.C., Tien Giang
I was very happy to receive your calendar for the year 2000. It is a very beautiful calendar. I don't remember when I started listening to Nguon Song's programs. I only know that from then on, my life was changed. I always feel joy, love for life, and blessed, ready to see life through forgiving eyes. Before listening to your station, I didn't have these attitudes. Thank you, Nguon Song, and I believe that Truth will prevail. It is also thanks to Nguon Song that my misunderstanding of Christianity has been erased. Before becoming a believer, I liked to read books on philosophy, but was not satisfied. I read books on morality and books of proverbs, but was still not satisfied. I went to the Buddhist Temple, but only found people worshiping other people there. I didn't like that either. Now, from personal experience, I know that salvation is only found in Christ. At first, I didn't listen to Nguon Song consistently. I just liked the programs like "Story of the Day," "Science and Life," and "Science and Faith." And yet for some unknown reason, I started listening consistently, and as I mentioned earlier, I don't know when it started. Maybe it was the three words, "Love, truth and hope" in your station identification that drew my attention. Dear friends, I have only received your letter, and none of the books you sent me. This time, I'd like to request only booklets: "Points to Ponder," "Basic Doctrine of Salvation," and "Peace with God." Thank you.
5. Mr. T.T.N., Phoenix, AZ, USA
The Vietnamese Christians in Phoenix, AZ love you very much. You have a great part in bringing God's saving grace to the world, for people to hear and believe in Christ. In Vietnam before, I used to love to listen to Nguon Song's broadcast. When I came to America, I was disappointed because I was unable to continue listening to your program. These past 3 years, I have been able to find your signal, and am able to listen regularly. Thank God for this joy. I really like to listen to your Bible lessons and messages. It is a precious gift that nurtures my soul. May God bless you and your families greatly in this New Year.
6. Miss N.T.T.L., Binh Dinh
It was a delightful surprise and joy to receive your letter and calendar. I continue to listen to your station consistently, especially Sunday mornings, to hear the Listeners' Mailbag program. One time I heard that you have sent me the booklet "True Happiness," and was very excited to receive it. But I waited and waited for so long and still did not receive it. I wonder if you have sent it to me or not, or if you sent it, but I just haven't received it. Even though I don't write to you, I listen to your program on Sundays, both morning and evening. Weekdays, I have to go to work, so I can't listen to it.
7. Mr. P.Q.D., Hai Duong
I received your letter and a package, including 3 lessons: "Marriage and Family I," "Basic Doctrines of Salvation," and "Streams in the Desert." There was also a desk calendar for the year 2000. Thank you very much. I don't have a radio with which to listen to Nguon Song, so can you please send me transcripts? Thank you.
8. Mr. N.T.L., Quang Nam
I received your booklet, "Why God is Silent" and a pen. I was very glad, but had not replied, but then on Dec. 22, I received your calendar as a Christmas gift and was very touched. I have no words to express how touched I am by your loving care for me.
9. Mr. T.V.T., Kien Giang
I was very happy and excited last week because I heard you read my name in the Listeners' Mailbag program. I was even more excited to hear you read my letter too. I thank God because He is always here with me to comfort me when I am weak and discouraged. How long has Nguon Song's program been on the air, and can you send tapes to people in Vietnam? I would like to request some music tapes to listen to. Thank you for your help.
10. Miss N.T.N.K., Quang Nam
Right after coming home from school, I received the materials you sent me. I was very moved and happy because you thought of me, and sent me these lessons so that I can study the Word of God. Even though we've never met, yet in God's love, I feel very close to you. I have made photocopies of the material you sent for some friends at school.
11. Mr. N.V.L., Hai Duong
I am grateful to you and thank all of you on the Vietnamese staff of Nguon Song Radio Station. You are truly blessed before God. You have brought to listeners, especially Christians, the sweet words of God. You are truly my parents who teach and guide me regarding spiritual matters. Everyday, I attend to your program. It is a sacred hour of listening to the Word of the Living God, on the 31 and 25 short-wave meter band. Your broadcasts and programs are truly sweet and full of love, consistent with your opening station identification, "This is the voice of love, truth and hope." God's Word is broadcast in every program in a meaningful and loving manner. I love all of your programs because they have guided me out of the darkness and into the light of God, which is a true blessing for anyone who believes in Christ.
12. Mrs. V.T.A., Ho Chi Minh City
I received your letter recently, together with a program guide and the booklet "Basic Doctrines on Salvation." Thank you very much. In the letter you asked if I have received your book on marriage and family. I did not, because I moved to another house three years ago. At the new address I did receive a calendar for the year 2000. These are the materials that I requested but had never received: "Satan in Today's World I," "Peace with God," "Sermon on the Mount I," and "Basic of True Happiness." I apologize for not writing after receiving your gift. May God bless your work in a special way.
P.S. Receiving your program guide makes me feel kind of sad because I could not get your signal at all lately. It is overcome by stronger signals such as those of BBC and other foreign stations. I will try again some day.
