January 2003
Note: "Nguon Song" or "Spring of Life" is the name of Vietnamese broadcast on the FEBC Radio.
From Mr. T.H., Germany, via e-mail
I was very happy and moved to receive your reply. I am living alone in
Germany. I am 38 years old and still single. Two years ago, when I decided
to dedicate my life to the ministry, I was involved in a traffic accident.
My car was like a pile of scrap metal, but God had mercy on me and spared
my life. Today my health is restored 70%, and I am taking the Bible
Correspondence Course to prepare for the time when God can really use me
in His Kingdom. When I came to Germany from Eastern Europe, there were no
Vietnamese Christians in my area at all. But today, there is one small
church. Unfortunately, most of the Christians here are weak in their
faith, and the lure of worldly pleasures is keeping the church from
growing. There are many times when I am very lonely and discouraged, and I
just want to give up. But thank God for Nguon Song Radio and the Christian
broadcasts available on the Internet. They have taught me and encouraged
me, and have helped me in my walk with the Lord. I would like to ask you
to pray for me that I will have more faith and wisdom to learn, understand
and apply God’s Word now and in the future. I also hope that you might let
me know the names of each member of the Vietnamese staff of Nguon Song, so
that I might pray for you. I listen to your broadcast and pray for you
everyday.
From Mr. H.A.T., via e-mail
I thank you very much for sending me the Bible in English. I never thought
I would receive it. It was such a surprise to receive it today! May your
ministry be fruitful and bring glory to the Lord.
From Mr. N.T.A., via e-mail
Warm greetings. May God bless you all. I have received the materials you
sent, and was very happy to receive these valuable lessons. I am leading
the youth group at our church. Could you please send us the materials on
Marriage and Family please? I am also in need of a New Translation
Vietnamese Bible. Can you please send me one? I am looking forward to
hearing from you soon. May God bless you.
From ... Vietnam, via e-mail
I thank God for keeping you safe. We would really like to keep in touch
with you regularly. We can hear the Nguon Song broadcast here very
clearly. Because of that, a lot of people are able to hear the Gospel.
Gradually, God’s Word has moved them to submission. The stronger the
church grows, the more persecution it encounters. But we must overcome,
and the church will prevail. Please remember to pray for us, and remember
to write to us. It is our encouragement. Thank you, and peace be with
you.
From Mr. H.T.A., via e-mail
On November 22nd I received the English Bible that you sent to me. My
sincere thanks to you. I am currently taking a lot of classes, and it is
hard. Please pray for me. There’s a drought in central Vietnam, and the
harvest was not as good as we had hoped. May God be with you and all of
Nguon Song staff.
From Miss N.D., via e-mail
I am a Nguon Song listener. I wrote to you once in 1999. I did receive
your letter and 2000 calendar but was unable to reply. I hope you
understand. At the beginning of 2002, I received one of your cards and on
it was your e-mail address. Using e-mail to correspond with you is very
convenient for listeners and Christians in Vietnam, especially when
requesting materials, lessons and books. Everyday in Vietnam there are
more and more people who long to read God’s Word. However, printed
materials are scarce. There is only one devotional each month, and every
now and again there is a sermon cassette tape. I really hope that you will
soon add more sermons to your website so that we can learn more about the
Word of God. May God bless you. We always support you in prayer.
From Mr. L.D.T., via e-mail
I have received these lessons: Marriage and Family #1 and #2, and Faith
Illustrated #2. Number 1 is missing. I thank you very much for sending
these lessons to me. I hope that I will continue to receive materials to
study to equip me to serve the Lord in my church. I have been waiting for
a long time, and have finally received your materials. I am also a regular
Nguon Song listener, and I need other lessons, such as "Shelter in Life,"
and lessons from the Women’s Program. May I also have 2 program guides so
that I can introduce you to my friends? I thank God for giving me many
opportunities to study the Bible. Your broadcasts have been very
encouraging to me. I think that it is so much more valuable to listen to
your program than to listen to secular music or watch TV. May God give you
more strength in everything you do.
From N.V., Can Tho, via e-mail
First of all, I pray that God will give you all good health and renewed
strength so that you will continue to serve Him and accomplish the great
tasks He has given to you. I am a regular listener of your programs; I
have written to you several times but received no reply so far. This time,
writing you through e-mail, I hope that we can correspond with each other
and I will be able to receive some of the lessons broadcast over the
airwave. To me, the Old Testament Survey program is very interesting, I
wish you will send to me all of the lessons on the Old Testament prophets
(including the current lessons on Hosea). With sincere thanks and God’s
blessings to you and your families.
From N.N.G., Ca Mau, via e-mail
Greetings to everyone on Nguon Song’s staff. May God be with you and bless
you abundantly. I thank God for He has allowed me to know of your radio
broadcasts, I have been listening for some time and have received many
blessings. I am also very glad that I have received the material on
Marriage and Family ( Faith and Marriage, vol. 1), and I have read it
through. I have a brother who has fallen in love with a non-Christian
girl, although now the girl has become a Christian, I am however, doubting
about her faith, would you give me some advice or tell me what I should do
to help bring my brother back to the Lord? I would also like to receive
more materials from the programs "Love and Marriage," "Women of the Bible"
and anything that would help me in my Christian life.
From Mr. H.B.H., Ho Chi Minh City; via e-mail
Thank you for writing to me. At first I thought, might be for some
reasons, you had not received my mail or you did not want to send me a
reply. I thank God that I was able to convey some of the listeners’ wishes
to you. These are people who live in the highland areas, far away from the
cities, whom I had the privilege to contact with. I am a businessman who
lives in Saigon. My job is to distribute office supplies to different
stores in many cities. This job gives me the opportunity to travel to
different areas of the country, to witness the joy and hardship in
people’s lives. As for me, I have a special respect for those who are
serving with Nguon Song Radio station. I have known your programs long ago
and really love it. I enjoy reading your devotional "Living with God’s
Word" and other materials you published. I still remember one incident in
1999, that week I had to travel to the mountain areas, and one evening I
stayed overnight in the home of a Christian family. And in the midst of
darkness and quietness of the jungle, I had the privilege of listening to
Nguon Song broadcast. Your program that evening brought so much
encouragement to my heart that I said to myself, when I return to the city
I will write to thank you for it. But, as you might know, with the
busyness of life in big cities, I didn’t write to you as I had thought.
Anyway, my observation is that, people in the cities are too busy to
listen to your broadcast, but people in rural areas really enjoy it.
Everyday they look forward to the time of your broadcast to listen to the
Word of God.
From Mr. H.B.H., 2nd e-mail
Thank you so very much for the Christmas card you sent me. It took two
months for the card to arrive. Anyway, please accept my sincere thanks to
you. I just returned home after one week on a business trip in the
highland area. Here is some information that you may find useful: The home
churches in the area have been officially shut down. Local authorities
brought video cameras into each location to videotape the people who were
there. Many Christians stopped attending the meetings because they were
afraid authorities would question them as they had been in the past.
Before, anyone who appeared in those videos was called in for questioning
2 or 3 times a day for at least a month. The Christians in these areas are
very afraid, and yet these home church meetings continue. Of course, Nguon
Song broadcasts are more valuable than ever before, and there are now more
listeners.
