Responses from our Listeners

Thailand - October, 2005

FEBC Thailand's radio ministry consists of radio production and distribution to local stations throughout the country. The following letter translations are representative of inquiring listeners.

This Life has an Answer Program:

1st letter: the listener wanted to die and asked us to find a way to care for her elderly mother. FEBC responded and hope grew in her heart immediately.

This is my second letter to you. I am interested in Jesus. I want to study the origins of Jesus. What do I have to do to become Christian? Is it too late for me? And will Jesus receive someone like me who doesn’t have very much longer to live? Will he have an attitude towards people like me with Aids? I don’t have anything to hold onto as I die. Every day I fight this disease, and the past is so painful it is almost like it kills me while I live. I am 50 years old and have had the disease for 13 years. My husband has died and left me and my son. My eyesight is now going with the disease attacking the nerves. I have to struggle each day on my own.

1 week later:

Thank you for your letter and encouragement. I am almost speechless. I would be so pleased to welcome you and any Christians from the Church into my home. There is a Church somewhere near here but I don’t know anyone who is a Christian. I have walked past the Church but not been brave enough to go inside. What do I have to do to worship Jesus? I want to learn about God…

This Life Has an Answer Program:

I am a regular listener. I love to listen to the programmer and also to God’s songs! I want to share a testimony….about 2 months ago I met 2 ladies in the public park. They were witnessing and saw me sitting there. They asked me why I was downcast and, like the program, told me that Jesus could help me. They invited me to a Church to worship God. I followed their invitation and have every week since! I have decided to follow Christ and turn away from my sins. I read the Bible every day.

Hope and Encouragement Program (in the tsunami area)

I am one who met the trauma of my life and am without hope or encouragement. My job has gone! Now I am sometimes able to be a hired worker but not often. I don’t have anyone to understand me with my difficulties and problems. Even though I live with relatives, it is like living alone. I didn’t know who I can rely on or where I could turn. And then I heard this program and so write this letter to see if there is any good way to help me out of my problems. I trust there will be as this is my very last hope now. Please send me some advice.

Ms Wipha in Krabi.
