Hmong letters Translations for August 1995

(Hmong from North Vietnam) [V-0895-1-Y]

I am a Church leader. My family and I have found Christ through your radio broadcast. When I first came to believe in Jesus Christ, I expected all types of Christians to believe in the word of the Lord, however, I found that to be not true at all. See, the people who I am talking about have the same doctrine and believe in the same God, however, when I joined this group, they turned out to be a cult.

My first two years into this religion gave me a direction not turning to the Lord, but instead, I found the belief to be totally wrong from that of God and from the teachings of your radio broadcast.

Now, it seems, I got out of the cult, with many beside me, as we now listen and worship the Lord according to what you teach and according to what the Lord has planned for our destiny.

We travel many times to the capital city of Hanoi. There, would be the time to collect Christian materials such as Bibles and Christian literature. Persecution is still a bad problem here in North Vietnam, so keep praying for us here. Here where I live, there are 85 Christian families that practice the word of the Lord. Please do not forget that we depend on the prayers of all who can say something for us to the Lord.

If it is possible, please send some materials to me and help me to be that Christian that God prefers. We need a better definition of the Lord.

Here however, there is a bad epidemic of sickness that is spreading all over the land. We here in the village need all the prayers that the people can give us, including you, pastor. Thank you.

(Hmong from Laos) [L-0895-2-Y,P]

I am a college student attending college in the capital city of Laos.

My parents live under the power of an evil spirit, however, I was the only person in my family who is a Christian.

I praise the Lord that you radio broadcast has brought out of my hell on earth and has gotten to appreciate the love of God. I try never to miss your program. Each program has helped me to learn more about the Lord. I have found that through your broadcast, I have developed my own inner peace.

In the church that I attend, many people will tell me that they have accepted the Lord through your program. I want to encourage all you guys at the FEBC staff to continue to do this so that many more other non-believers will come to know the glory of the Lord.

I would ask that you will pray for my family. My family lives in a vicinity of the state where they are not able to worship freely, and whenever they try to, they end up in trouble.

Keep the good news coming brother, you don't know how many people depend on letters like this. Many people glorify the name of the Lord, but stupidity would cause others to deny the name of the Lord, as they also mock His name.

In the end of this letter, I ask that you send me some more literature explaining the Power of the Lord and I want to thank you one last time for sending me those three last tapes. Thank you very much.

How wonderful it is to know that the Lord loves us no matter what we go through!

After I listened to your radio broadcast for a number of months, I began to know that God loves me, which ultimately drove me to the Lord and to become a Christian. Without this program, I would still be under the control of an evil spirit. Praise the Lord for your program.

Thank God that in April of this year, my whole family would come to accept the Lord. It is a feeling in the heart that few know of. Please rejoice with me.

I would also like to thank you for all the literature that you have sent me in the past. At this time, however, the group of Christians I worship with have no pastor, therefore, we would have to depend on your broadcast for now.

I want to let you know that the prayer that I keep is so that FEBC would financially and spiritually continue to keep the word alive!

(Hmong from Laos) [L-0895-4-Y]

This time is a period where I am staying in a hospital in Luag Prabang Province. Hopefully I will be out soon and back home.

I want to let you know that before I was in this place, I listened to your radio broadcast everyday. I hate to tell you this but I am not a believer yet. As you know, this province is restricted from worshipping the Lord. I have not ended my search for another pastor however.

What should I do? I'm ready to accept the Lord into my heart but what will happen to me? Can I accept the Lord by myself? Would the Lord accept someone like me who is sick?

Please send me some material that would help me answer my questions so that I can walk through the path that leads me to the ultimate glory.

This would be my third time that I have written to you. The material that you have sent has benefited my soul and I'd like to thank for that. I have received them all. Thank you very much for your encouragement and support.

At this time, there is a group of Hmong Christians who call themselves the Hmong Evangelicals. The leader claims that he is the Hmong Savior and Jesus.(*) This man has performed stunning miracles to many people already.

Another group, they claim that they found the lord through your program. They have no leaders.

All of our Hmong counterparts have caused much confusion among us. Keep the broadcasting coming so that our answers will come.

We really would be happy if we were to have Hmong Bibles and other materials that would help us.

For the safety of our members, please do not mention our names on air. We pray that the Lord will supply you with energy and wisdom so that the broadcast will continue.

(*) Note: This cult is well-known, and its leader is said to have power to do miracles through evil spirits.
