JULY, 1994

(Hmong from Laos) [L-0794-1-A,M]

I'm a church leader in the northeast of Laos. When the communists took over the country in 1975, I was only a young man and knew very little about the word of God.

When most of the Christians fled the country, I stayed with my parents. Since then, I have been witnessing to others about Christ. Until recently, I have been quiet about my faith. In 1985, 1 started to listen to your radio broadcast. It was then that I decided to build a church for the people in my village. Unfortunately, many people opposed me.

But I praise the Lord that in 1989 1 was able to demonstrate the power of God. I heard that there were two demon possessed women. One of them would seriously beat anyone if they got close to her. Her relatives decided to chain her and the other lady up in cuffs and lock them in a cage. While they were locked up, they would never eat. And if they released them, they would beat and chase people as before.

When I heard the news, some believers and me went to see both the ladies right away. The people told us that if we could cast the demons out, they would believe in the Lord. So, we started praying and reading God's words for the ladies. We also laid our hands on them. After all this, the demons were cast out and they felt fine.

Thank God for this miracle. Now we are able to build a church without opposition. The problem is that we desperately need hymn books and bibles. We also need some of your scripture teaching tapes.

I just want to let you know that we totally depend on your radio broadcast.

Your scripture teaching tapes and your radio broadcast has really touched our Hmong people. We listen to your broadcast daily to nurture our faith in the Lord.

We praise the Lord for each of your broadcast. Please know that at this time, there is a very difficult situation with he young people. You may have to prepare a program for them.

Keep on broadcasting because there are still many other Hmong people that must hear the word of God.

I'm a housewife with five children. Please help me in any way. My life is full of sadness and bitterness. I believe that if my kids weren't around, I would have died many years ago.

My story is that when I was married I was a born again Christian. My husband was not. After three long years of prayer, he decided to also accept Christ. But after a while, my husband's attitude changed. He does things without telling me. Sometimes he leaves the house without telling me. He also doesn't share his income with the kids or me.

At this time, I totally depend on your radio broadcast. My parents also listen to your words. Please help me. Also, at this time there are many other marriage problems similar to mine in Thailand. Please prepare some kind of program that could help husbands and wives repair or better their marriages. If you have any suggestions, please send me some answers.

Your scripture teaching tapes and your radio broadcast have really touched my heart. My whole life,, I never heard about the love of Christ until now. When I listened to your program, it changed my heart and brought new interest into my life.

The way I learned about God was through my relatives. They played some scripture tapes while I was visiting them. I asked them if I could make a copy but they said "no." They told me to write you because they thought I would break their cassette.

Pastor, could you send me some of your Bible scripture tapes and literature? It would help because I want to learn more about Jesus Christ.

Thank you very much for the small gift and your scripture tapes. When I wrote to you, my wife was really sick. Now she's feeling better but my brother and I are starting to get sick.

One of my younger brothers just recently passed away. I miss him a lot. Could you send me some of your Christian music? I want to learn how to sing praises so I will not think too much of my brother.

Keep on broadcasting. We need encouragement and God's words to help us in the times of trouble like now. May God bless you with good health.

I live in the northern part of Laos. I am not a believer yet but your radio broadcast has always been my friend and teacher in life.

This year I have been wondering a lot. My family is facing many difficulties that we can't handle anymore. My wife, father, and sister has just recently passed away in the same month. My wife left me with a small baby boy. I really miss her and the others very much.

Please tell me why things like this happen. What should I do now? If there are any scripture teaching tapes, please send them to me. We need your prayer and support.

My father has passed away and presently I am living with my mother. Where I live, there are still regular church meetings. Unfortunately the government officials has asked us to stop practicing Christianity. They believe that this religion is "from the west." They told us that Laotians should only practice Buddhism and evil spirit worshipper.

We didn't really care what they thought. Please pray for us but if it is the Lord's will for us to go to jail, we will go. If not, we will still worship our Lord.

At this time, there is no pastor. We can only depend on your radio broadcast to encourage us in times of difficulties like this. If there are any Bible scripture tapes that p will encourage our faith, please send them. Thanks.
