Listener Responses - October 1957

The following listener excerpts were published (along with occasional editorial comments) in the October 1957 Far East Broadcaster and/or its accompanying newsletters of the same date.

TABON, PALAWAN, Philippines

"The ministry of your broadcast is the greatest source of spiritual food to the Palawano believers here. Through these listeners who are regularly coming, many others are taught. There are also believers who come from across the island to listen and learn new songs. About 1,000 believers meet every Sunday. Today, even the Tablanuans are hearing the Gospel."

MALABANG, LANAO, Philippines

"Last month, I brought the radio set to a barrio some 17kms away from town. Many people were benefited by the messages. One of my nephews confessed that his eyes were opened to the truth about Christ. He said further that he found out that only Christ can save from sin."

SOLANO, NUEVA VIZCAYA, Philippines

"Through your broadcast we are inspired to walk closer to God, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the power of the name of Jesus Christ. I am glad to say that two young people were brought to Christ through the radio ministry of Pastor Esperanza. They always come to hear more of the Word of God."

RIFLE, COLO., U.S.A.

"I have listened to your broadcast (OUT OF THE NIGHT) several times and I think what a blessing such a broadcast must be to countless peoples who for some reason cannot attend church or read their own Bibles, or who have just never heard of the Lord Jesus Christ before...God bless you."

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines

"This is one of your ardent listeners to your program (OUT OF THE NIGHT). Your inspiring thoughts and sacred music give hope and new life to working people who are tired and down-hearted by the stress and strain of life's problems, like me."

AGUSAN, MINDANAO, Philippines (from the pro- vincial jail).

"One evening as I lay on my bed thinking what I can do to be worthy to my country and people as a good citizen, many things flashed on my mind; a business man; a writer defending the masses against their oppressors and the like. Then something like a spiritual voice rang in my ears saying, '0 man, why art thou mindful of the things of the world? Heaven and earth shall pass away but my Word shall not pass away.' 'For what is your life anyway? It is even a vapor that vanisheth away after appearing for a little while. To gain life, Christ is the remedy.' This spiritual voice coming from the radio made me realize that I was thinking of doing things that are of no value to God. Then I decided to use this life for His Glory. Thanks to the PM radio for the counsel I received."

VINTAR, ILOCOS NORTE, Philippines

"Our listeners here like the Ilocano programs, but my family has experienced spiritual rebirth and receive daily inspiration from the morning prayer program. Late last month an incident happened to my teen aged brother that could have aroused anger and revenge from us, but we have learned to forgive in the most Christian way though the thing involved the life of my brother. And this is what we can say, the effect of listening to the messages from our PM radio."

JONES, ISABELA, Philippines

"Words are not enough to express my sincerest gratitude for the bountiful blessings that the Lord is providing to all who trust and believeth in Him. Even if we are far from Manila, the PM gives us the wonderful opportunity of hearing messages from God's men like Billy Graham. Many hearts were blest and rejoiced after listening to him."
