Listener Responses - May 1957

The following listener excerpts were published (along with occasional editorial comments) in the May 1957 Far East Broadcaster and/or its accompanying newsletters of the same date. The first excerpt is from a student of the Bible School of the Air. The editor commented: "Bible School of the Air. As of March of this year 212,000 have been enrolled! 83,000 are current students; 32,000 have completed their courses.

***The following is an example of testimonies received from students.

"My heartfelt thanks for the help all of you rendered unto me when I was walking in darkness. I am born again, I know it, I feel it and I am living for it. In fact this coming 16th will be my baptismal day. I didn't realize that I was going the wrong way of obtaining Salvation, not until I joined the study of the course and learned from there how and what I must do to have it. I have it now, and this I owe to you and the greatest Book on earth... the Holy Bible. Now, I understand the meaning of the word "Joy"—'Jesus first, others second and yourself last.' I am thanking you once more and may God bless us all."

***A letter from Adelaide, South Australia:

"I think the greatest news I can send to you is about my conversion. After the gentleman had stopped speaking about the Love of God for man and while the Choir was singing I felt the call of my Blessed Lord. I got out of bed and asked Him to help me find the right path ...I have always, when my health would allow, listened in to your broadcasts which from time to time I have enjoyed. But it was only this evening that I felt the call of my Blessed Lord. Please pray for me that my newfound faith will not fail me, that I will be given strength to keep this new faith which I have in Christ Jesus my Lord."

***A letter from Quezon City, Philippines:

"I would be very grateful if you could send me a copy of the sermon delivered last Sunday. Upon hearing the sermon of last Sunday, I realized fhat I am missing a great deal of the wise counsel contained in the words of God and His ministers. I decided then and there that I should, as soon as possible, seek the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
