Topic of the Month - Testimonies about Preaching the Gospel
I was touched by their sincerity
I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior in March,1991. In 1985, my wife had to stay in hospital because of ill health. One day, an old patient talked to us about Jesus and invited us to believe in Him. It's the first time I heard about Jesus and I rejected. Six months later, my wife left the hospital. All kinds of medical treatment were proved in vain and she was paralyzed.
In 1990, two Christians, sisters Ng and Cheung, came to visit us. They said they converted to Jesus Christ when they fell sick. After they recovered, they got the vision to preach the Gospel to the sick. I was touched by their sincerity and promised to buy my wife a Bible. From then on, my wife reads the Bible every day. Because of their persuasion, more than ten sick neighbors converted later and had fellowship near my house. The two sisters were so kind to take my wife there and back every time that I respected them. However, when they invited me to join the fellowship and read the Bible, I refused. I thought that I couldn't believe a god who didn't heal my wife. I also regarded the Bible as other books which were subject to revise over time.
In order not to trouble them, sometimes I would take my wife to the meeting point and stayed till the end of the fellowship. At one time, I heard about the birth of Jesus. Sister Cheung told me that His birth and death were prophesied a thousand years earlier. Jesus came to this world to die for our sins and was raised on the third day. She also said that the Bible is God-breathed. It's the truth and won't change. By then, I had a positive understanding of the Bible. In March 1991, I was invited to a revival meeting. That night, I learnt about God's creation, judgment and salvation. I was convinced and decided to accept Jesus as my personal Savior. Sister Cheung told me how to confess my sins and threw away all pagan shrines. I did so and from then on, I have been living a life of faith.

I recommend your broadcast to them
I find many young people interested in Christianity today. I myself is a new convert and know little about the Bible. Yet I am pursuing the truth and like to share my experience with my friends and recommend your broadcast to them.
At present, China is in a crisis of blind religious faith. Accompanying the open door policy, superstitions, fortune telling and occult art revive. In villages, people are keen on worshipping false gods. In cities, people only care about living a good, materialistic life. They are ignorant of the meaning of life. Superficially the economy is booming. Yet behind it, people are sinking into the abyss of darkness and chaos.

They say that I am foolish and naive
I am fifty-six years old. I was brought up in a Christian family. I recall our home was a meeting point during my childhood. Now I can still remember some stories my mother told about Jesus. But only in 1989 I personally knew and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord.
In the hospital where I work in, there are about a hundred people of staff. Yet there are only a few Christians. Some colleagues always make fun of me saying that I am foolish and naive. Yet I don't mind for the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom. Owing to my job nature, there are good opportunities for me to introduce Jesus Christ to patients. I do so and lead many of them and also my friends to the Savior.

I learn to be more patient
I live in the countryside. The nearest church is twenty miles away, which was built by American missionaries eighty years ago. Since the church is far away, we, twenty-one altogether, worship and fellowship in a brother's home and invite preachers from the church to pastor us. I find it difficult to evangelize in my village because most villagers worship pagan gods. Some of them claim that they would believe our God only if He appears before them. According to my own will, I just want to ignore them and spend all my time on studying the Bible. However, when I understand the fact that Jesus commands all His followers to spread the Gospel and extend His Kingdom on earth, I realize that my attitude is wrong. I learn to be more patient and are willing to care their lives and share the truth about salvation with them.

They exhibit hostile attitudes
As a Christian, evangelizing for Jesus is important and essential. I have tried hard to introduce Jesus Christ to my classmates. With the exception of two, others exhibit hostile attitudes by querying a lot. In response to my answers, they always have something to argue and talk back. The only cause of their hardened hearts is the education of atheism and evolution. I pray that the education department would stop forcing us to accept such philosophy and allow us to make free choice.

China is a great field for Gospel
China is a great field for Gospel. I am willing to offer myself wholly to God. I have been preaching the Gospel in my work place and among my neighbors, and I write to my friends and relatives. May God prepared for me receivers of the Gospel. I have to thank and praise the Lord, for I have already led five people to repent before Him.
